Vanilla Muffins-Technology

Today we had technology and for technology we were making Vanilla Muffins. I was so happy because I really like muffins. While we were mixing the mixture with the electric mixer the mixture got very fluffy but we thought it was meant to be like that. Something I learnt was to use a plastic scraper to take the mixture off the spoon to put it into the muffin cups. I also learnt if you whisk your mixture for over 3 minutes it would rather come out looking like a cup or a biscuit like our one did. When our cupcake came out looking like a cup we just filled it with chocolate syrup and that was so delicious. One thing I would like to improve is managing self because i'm always going to other people's
kitchen to see what they are doing.

Methods
  1. Put 1 cup of S.R flour in the bowl
  2. Then add 1 cup of sugar in the bowl
  3. Lastly add 1 egg, 1/3 of oil and 1/3 of milk in the bowl
  4. Whisk all in one bowl using the electric whisk
  5. Line the muffin tray and serve one spoon each muffin and top up the rest of leftover mixture

Maths-Test

Today we had a maths test and I was so scared. Maths isn't really what I do but giving it a try is good. When we started I found the first question very easy but while we were going on it started to get more tricky. Miss Komor and Kelly handed us some paper and pencils to help and then it started to get more easier. The most difficult question I found challenging was decimals and I found that very challenging and also I found fractions very challenging. Some questions I found really easy was the times table ones because last year we always worked on our times tables and it helped a lot. Another load of questions I found really easy was the addition question because I have a strategy that will help me solve any addition question. Next time I really need to improve on my fractions and also I really, really need to work on my decimals. After the test I started getting nervous if I got the right answers or if I rushed it to get it done fast, so I went back and checked so I can be happy with my answers.Image result for MathsImage result for Maths

Census

Every 5 years New Zealand has a special day named Census. New Zealand's first official national population was held in 1851. What they do is they go around and give a form to people and on that form is a set of questions about themselves and their household. I never knew that census was a big part of the world, I never knew Census exist but now I know what census does. While we were working I started to find trouble on why census was important so I did some research and nothing showed up so I just gave up and worked on something else.

From that I learnt that I can research more then 1 time to find ideas and to connect the dots. I also learnt more about the company census and I also learnt the impact it does to our country. Next time I could search up more than one site and also I could ask some of my friends or teachers to help me.Image result for Census

Nachos-Technology Reflection

Today we went to technology again. When we got their we had to stand into 2 lines and in our 2 lines it was 1 line of year 7's and 1 line of year 8's. When we got inside Miss Tuipulotu said that the year 7's were making fruit salad and then we were all sad because we wanted to make the fruit salad. But then Miss Tuipulotu said that were making Nachos and we were really happy. And then the year 7's were sad but happy at the same time because they were gonna make something nice next week. While we were making it my eyes were watering because of cutting the onions but it was really fun. I really enjoyed the part when we ate it and also the part when me and Alo were mixing the meat  and onions. Here is how you make it:
Ingredients
  • Onions
  • Brrasil
  • Tamato Puree
  • Baked beans
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ground Meat
Methods
  1. Dice your onion and fry until soft.
  2. Add the mince and fry until its cooked.
  3. Add tomato puree, bake beans, brasil, salt and pepper and mix.
  4. Cook well and serve it with nacho chips.

Two people stabbed in Panmure

Today for the first block Home group 1 went to their buddy class while our homegroup stayed in class and finished up on our blogs.  The article I chose was taken place in Panmure, near my house. A challenge I found was trying to find out why this happened and how did it start.

ProudFoot- Assembly

Yesterday after lunchtime we had a Assembly. And when we got down to the hall we see a whole lot of instruments. Some of the instruments were made out of wood and the others were weird looking poles. When everyone was settled and we were sitting down a man came walking past us with a huge smile on his face. When he got on the stage he started to explain a little bit about himself and while he was talking about himself he started to make a few weird noises and it was so funny. In my head I already knew that the show will be very exciting. Then he grabbed his guitar and explained a character from a book that he wrote. And after explaining the character he played the guitar and it sounded so "AMAZING". Then he played the guitar with the drums and it sounded better than AMAZING. Then he explained some cultural instruments and then the show was finished.Image result for proudfoot show

Tennis Reflection

Today we had tennis and for tennis we were practicing how to serve. I felt really nervous because I have never played tennis before. I was really looking forward to learn how to serve and also how to aim. Before we got to the main point we had to practise how we set up the ball. I usually throw with my right hand but we had to throw the ball with our weak hand and what I found challenging was aiming and from that I learnt that I usually focus on 1 arm but training both arms will make other things easier. So next time I can try working on both arms and then everything will be a lot easier.
